The Chattanooga News Chronicle was founded in 1989 by John L. Edwards III, his wife, Faith, and his son Adrian to make sure the African American community was highlighted and reported on in a positive and encouraging manner.Through the newspaper, the Edwards family has over the years played a major role in writing the stories that call out and confront systemic racism and injustice.
