Frankfort, Ky Saturday, October 9, 2021 – After frying the Texas College Steers, shutting them out, while posting a school record 71 points, in their Saturday, October 2 Homecoming game at Lane Field, in, Jackson, Tn. Saturday, October 9, the Lane Dragons had their fire doused, losing 41-14 in the Kentucky State University Thorobreds’ homecoming game, at Alumni Stadium in Frankfort, Kentucky.

“We got beat by a great team today. “I take my hat off to Kentucky State’s head football coach Charlie Jackson and his staff of assistant coaches,” said Dragons’ head football coach Vyron Brown. “Their players played great and did a great job of keeping the ball away from us, never turning it over until the end of the game.”

Before losing their second Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest of the season, the Dragons, who never led in this game versus KSU, were 4-1 (1-0 SIAC) and seated in second place among the five teams, including Kentucky State, seated in the SIAC’s Western Division standings, just one-half game in front of the now 3-3 (2-1 SIAC) Thorobreds.

However, as they strive to ascend to the top of the division, so as to play in the SIAC Championship Game, 7:00 PM ET Saturday, November 13, at the Western Division Champions Campus, there are still plenty of SIAC football games left for the Dragons to play, this year, with five conference games left on their 2021football schedule.

The Thorobreds now 3-3 (2-1 SIAC), came into this game looking to get back on the winning track, after falling, 21-17 at home to the Savannah State Tigers, a week earlier, Saturday, October 2.

But, before this second consecutive loss to Kentucky State, the Dragons, who last met and lost to KSU, 40-20, in a home game, on October 9, 2019, are now 11-13 overall versus the thorobreds and 5-6 in in their last 11 matchups versus the Thorobreds.

“Now, it’s back to the drawing board for our next game, against Miles,” said Brown. “Miles is leading our division, so it’s a big game.” In fact, they’re all big games from here on out. So, we’ve got to go out and play and have no slip ups.” The Lane Dragons will return to action, taking on the Miles Bears, at 2:00 PM CT this coming Saturday, October 16, for an Siac home game at Lane Field, in, Jackson, Tn.
